• Tyler Survives

Tyler’s Story

Tyler Miles is 22 years old — a devoted father to his 3‑year‑old son, Leo, and a young man fighting germinoma cancer with extraordinary strength.

We are grateful to share hopeful news: Tyler is responding well to chemotherapy. His tumor has already shrunk significantly and is now less than 70% of its original size. This progress gives us hope — but he is now entering a critical next phase of treatment.

The urgent need

Tyler now needs radiation therapy. His medical team has presented two options: traditional photon radiation or proton radiation.

Proton therapy is more targeted and may reduce radiation exposure to healthy tissue — especially important because Tyler’s cancer affects sensitive brain and endocrine areas.

At just 22, protecting Tyler’s long‑term health, reducing future complications, and preserving his quality of life are essential.

This is not only about survival. It is about helping Tyler live, heal, and remain present for his son.

The barrier

Right now, Kaiser and Medi‑Cal are not covering proton therapy for Tyler.

This means the treatment — along with the required relocation and housing — must be funded through donations and outside support.

What we need to raise

We urgently need to raise:

$75,000 – $100,000

These funds will support:

  • Proton radiation treatment
  • Temporary housing near Loma Linda during therapy
  • Maintaining Tyler’s Bay Area apartment so his family has a home to return to
  • Basic living expenses while Tyler and his fiancée, Aleeha, are unable to work full‑time due to treatment and caregiving

Tyler will need approximately 8 weeks of radiation, five days a week, at Loma Linda in Southern California. This requires Tyler, Aleeha, and little Leo to temporarily relocate from San Francisco while still keeping their home in the Bay Area.

Who Tyler is

Through every step of this journey, Tyler has never complained.

He remains grateful, kind, positive, and determined. He has faced an unimaginable diagnosis and chosen courage over despair.

He has not given up. He has not fallen into self‑pity. He continues to fight every single day — for his life, his future, and his son.

His heart is truly remarkable, and our family is humbled by his strength.

How you can help

We are asking for:

  • Donations of any size
  • Shares across social media
  • Connections to large‑scale donors, companies, charities, cancer foundations, or medical housing resources
  • Prayers, encouragement, and support

If you know of any organization, company, donor, or foundation that may help with cancer treatment funding, proton therapy, or medical housing, please reach out immediately.

We are not giving up on Tyler. Not now. Not ever.

Thank you for loving him, praying for him, sharing his story, and helping us fight for the treatment he needs.

With deep gratitude, The Miles FamilyA journey commenced, starting cheerfully under a clear sky, and a tranquil sea.

They walked out onto the deck. All the buildings and smoke had vanished, and the ship was in a vast expanse of sea, fresh and clear yet faint in the morning light.

They had departed from the city lying in the mud. A very thin silhouette stretched on the horizon, barely strong enough to support the weight of a distant city, which still lay upon it. They were free from paths, free from people, and a shared sense of liberation filled them all.

The ship moved steadily through small waves that splashed her and then fizzled like sparkling water, leaving a little trail of bubbles and foam on each side. The dull October sky above was lightly veiled as if by smoke from a fire, and the air was refreshingly salty and brisk. Indeed, it was too chilly to stay still.

Mrs. Brown took her husband`s arm, and as they walked away, it was clear from the way her tilted cheek turned up to his that she had something private to share.
